Katipunan Bank is proud that one of its microfinance clients in the person of Ms. Ana Sanoy of Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte was selected as one of the Semi-finalists of the 15th Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards. She received a cash incentive of Ten Thousand Pesos (Php10,000.00) and last October 6, 2017, she was visited and interviewed in person by the Citi Micro Award Review Committee at her small restaurant in Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte. During the interview, she genuinely shared her success story of how she was able to overcome difficulties as she pursued her dream of putting up her own business and improving the livelihood of her family. Her success story inspires the Bank to continue reaching out to more aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to turn their start-up dream into reality.
The annual awards program is conducted to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs who have surpassed poverty with support from microfinance institutions as partners in financial inclusion and enterprise development. This nationwide search is a partnership among Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Citi Philippines and Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI).
